Seeking Joy

When you said "Seek my face", My heart said, "Your face, Lord, I will seek." And it is there I find joy! Psalm 27:8

MERRY CHRIST-MAS TO ALL

The Thompson's are enjoying a day of baking! My grandson at the left is quite a ham. Andrea next to him and then Sarah like to eat the cookies as much as bake them! My daughter Jennifer is supervising the gingerbread house. This year we decided it is a gingerbread diner. It looks more like a trailer! Oh well!

Our guests have been with us since the beginning of the month, and are with us for the holidays and I am so glad! We have been making the best of it, and that means we all do the best we can and look for the good in every situation. I really believe Christ always knows the deepest recesses of our hearts, and talks to us there. That is where we hear him, and He sees only the best in all of us!

I can't say I got all the shopping done I should have, and I haven't sent one card in the mail! Much more important things are on my list this year. And of course we all know Jesus wasn't really born in December. And Santa Claus isn't related to Jesus. And the tree, well it really is a pagan symbol. So what are we celebrating anyway? The free gift of......life! Eternal life!! With One who loves us more than anyone! He came here to show us how much He loves us, and He is excited for us all to come home to Him soon and spend forever with Him! What better friend can there be?!

I know I promised recipes, and I certainly havn't been keeping anyone up to date on the goings on here, and to say I've just been busy, well aren't we all this time of year. Well the only recipe I want to give you this season, is a recipe for everlasting life. Trust the creator of this universe, and the Son He gave us as the ransom for our lives, and then follow Him the rest of your days. The bible is His recipe for how to follow Him, and how to experience peace and fulfillment in this life, as we wait expectantly with the greatest joy for his return to pick us up in the heavenly taxi and transport us to be with him, forever!!! The dessert is always worth the wait! May He richly bless you, as you seek Him!

December is here......

One never kjnows what the winter winds will blow in! We expected a few inches of snow on the ground this morning, but it's not quite ready for such an event. But there are other amazing events here anyway. A friend and her two teenage daughters are taking up residence with us for a couple of weeks. They are in transition and need a place to stay.

I believe every event in our life is a God lesson. We are always learning, and He is always willing to teach. Those of you who are willing to pray, I covet those prayers and greatly appreciate them. This family needs God's available love and power to conquer the strongholds in their lives. So please pray.

We have many other events planned for this month. A Christmas tea, a family outing to the movies to see the preview of "Narnia", the usual holy-day shopping. (That IS what holiday means!) I am about half way there. I keep getting interruptions, but treasure building for His Kingdom is a priority. I welcome the interruptions!! I hope you find and KEEP the meaning of the season close to your heart. It is Him, our Lord Jesus, we celebrate. And it His work we are to be about. And I hope you find in Him, peace and clarity this holy-day season! Next week, yummy recipes coming.
